The successful candidate is a solution-driven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can work accurately under pressure and is self-driven. The candidate is passionate about farming quality grapes, loyal and relishes working in an environment crafted through relationships and family principles (Afrikaans & English).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full farming function across 100 ha wine grapes which includes the following:

  • planning and weekly management of all production processes (weeding, trellising, canopy management, irrigation, fertilization, spraying, pruning, harvesting and all new plantings)
  • farm maintenance management
  • staff and contractor management
  • record keeping and compilation of key data and production reports
  • planning and management of the production budget
  • management of operating costs
  • quality management and all other duties relevant to the position.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant working experience with vineyards (including in a management capacity)
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant quality systems (IPW) & other regenerative viticulture techniques
  • Machine harvesting
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office) and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, team mentality and positive attitude
  • Driver’s License
