A dynamic wine company based in Cape Town is looking for a diligent, self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude, who is highly organised with an interest in sales, sales admin, sales support, marketing support and customer relations to join their team.

 Location: Work from home with weekly meetings in Cape Town/Somerset West. Full time with flexibility. May be required to do some travel locally and internationally when experienced enough.

 Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administration
  • General sales administration and support duties
  • Assist with database management
  • Assist with sales reports and feedback
  • Sample tracking and follow-up
  • Maintaining all sales related records (physical/cloud-based)
  • Part of the Debtor follow up team post sales
  • Sales Tasks
  • the implementation and execution of the strategic sales and marketing plan.
  • Maintaining and growing existing customers.
  • Identifying, developing, and growing new customers.
  • Dealing with customers on a daily basis – telephonic, email, Facebook, Instagram and other communication channels.
  • Preparing invoices and providing after-sales support.
  • Liaising with drivers and the logistics team regarding deliveries.
  • Assisting the Sales Manager with all sales related admin.
  • Liaising with national distributors and international agents with respect to sales, wine allocations and marketing plans.
  • Monitoring changing sales and marketing trends.
  • Attending wine shows/events and visiting customers or markets.
  • Reporting and all other tasks associated with the position.
  • Logistics
  • Arranging the drop-off and collection of samples
  • International sample processing for media, trade & competitions
  • Finance
  • Processing customer orders for national private customers
  • Assisting with reports

 Qualifications:

Minimum 3 year-working experience with a tertiary degree/diploma or similar
5+ years experience in a similar position in the wine industry, or related industry such as tourism or hospitality;
Knowledge of wine and the wine industry

 Personal characteristics:

English as first language is preferable due to overseas sales responsibilities. However, if English is not the home language then the candidate will have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken

Tech-savvy, above average computer skills

Social media savvy

Excellent telephone manner

Team player with good emotional intelligence

Sales goal driven

Exceptional attention to detail

Ability to work well under pressure and independently

Ability to work with discretion

Flexibility to work overtime and on weekends when required

Reliable and able to deliver on deadline

Own reliable transport and driver’s license

Flexibility and willingness to travel

Crucial is a “Can do” attitude and the natural willingness to deliver exceptional customer service, every time

 

Required Computer Software Skills:

MS Office Suite

Accounting system experience with Xero would be an advantage

Social Media experience: Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn would be an advantage

 

Salary: R10 000 - 12 000 dependent on experience + commission.
