Deetlefs Wine Laboratory, based in Rawsonville, has an exciting 12-month internship opportunity with real-life industry experience available for 2022.

This position includes all laboratory activities during the 2022 harvest and gives the candidate a great opportunity to broaden their knowledge of the winemaking process.  The candidate will also be introduced to basic cellar activities and well as pre- and post-bottling practices.

The ideal candidate should have a good work ethic and display a keen interest in laboratory work and quality of wine.  In addition, the successful candidate should be able to work well in a team and be available to work overtime during the season.


  • Completed or currently studying B. Sc or B. Agric
  • Perform routine wine analyses
  • Preparation and standardization of chemical reagents
  • Bilingual (afrikaans & english)
  • Good and accurate analytical abilities
  • Reliable

Schedule and Compensation:

  • 12-month contract
  • Full-time temporary role with expectation of 42.5 hours work per week
  • Market related salary
  • Overtime will be compensated according to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act
  • Accommodation is not included and reliable transport is necessary

Commencement of service: January 2022
