Assistant Winemaker Oppertunity

Haute Cabrière has an exciting career opportunity for the successful candidate to join the production team producing world-class still and sparkling wines at their cellar based in Franschhoek, reporting directly to the Winemaker.

Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to the following | 

  • Coordinating harvest activities and winemaking processes
  • Blending, sampling and stabilization of wines
  • Managing and updating QC systems and H&S standards
  • Effective leadership of the cellar team
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards
  • SAWIS record keeping and administration
  • Export bottling-run processes

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience |

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 2 -3 years of cellar operations and winemaking experience
  • Computer literacy in EzyWine beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision (self-starter)
  • Sound people and time management skills
  • Own transport and willingness to work irregular hours
  • Punctuality and attendance reliability essential
