Maintenance Manager - Packhouse: Citrus - Nelspruit

Job purpose: Lead the maintenance function in providing both a proactive and reactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities. Plan and oversee all aspects of the day to day running of the maintenance team in the Packhouse.

Key Accountability Areas

• Maintenance: Plan, supervise and coordinate the maintenance & maintenance schedules of buildings, operational machinery and fire equipment according to manufacturer specifications o ensure adherence to safety requirements o continuous improvement of packhouse efficiencies through inspections and reporting

• Manage new installations i.e. time and budget specifications

• Manage finance (maintain costs within budget parameters) and admin (organise and coordinate material and human resources)

• Ensure compliance to Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations (for minimum incidents | injuries)

People Management

o Coordinate with management and/or contractors to perform maintenance activities

o Manage purchasing of all related supplies and plant equipment repair parts

o Oversee and direct maintenance personnel

o Review staff members' performance o Participate in establishing work schedules and ensuring that these schedules are correctly executed

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant qualification and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a maintenance managerial position with

relevant qualification in maintenance field.

• Relevant experience and knowledge of maintenance procedures and systems to be maintained (electrical and


• Experience in Automation and plc’s will be added advantage
