Pick Me Recruitment is looking for an experienced Catering and Events Sous Chef to join an iconic wine farm just outside Stellenbosch to assist in overseeing and running all weddings and special events.
Previous experience in the catering & events industry will be advantageous and candidates must reside in the local vicinity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with all catering mise en place and culinary activities performed
• Excellent culinary skill
• Assist with stocking and ordering
• Assist in approving and polishing dishes before they reach the guests
• Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
• Hands-on approach to all catering activities and events
• Responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines at all times
• Responsible for maintaining all catering equipment
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests
• Manage inventory and supplies
Minimum Requirements:
• A diploma in professional cookery will be advantageous
• Matric
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
• Capable of delegating multiple tasks and provide excellent support
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Able to work under pressure
• Computer literate
• Enthusiasm to develop your own skills & knowledge plus those around you
• Able to start ASAP
Remuneration: R12 500 CTC
