Overhex Wines International has a vacancy available for a Marketing Assistant.

We require a young, energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our dynamic team. Multi-tasking will be required to cover the variety of work tasks in this role. The candidate must be confident to communicate with stakeholders across all levels. A passion for wine and the industry is a must.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing marketing proposals and presentations based on company needs.
  • Tasting room assistance, including wine sales and presenting wine tastings.
  • Maintaining and researching for customer loyalty programs.
  • Market and product research.
  • Circulation of PR to all internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with POS and other related merchandise.
  • Tourism and Wine Route liaison.
  • Assist with E-commerce store management.
  • WOSA communications monitored and shared with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage competition entries both local and international.
  • Administration and organisation for both local and international shows.
  • Assist the Sales Manager with ad hoc local sales administration.
  • Management of the business calendar in the Marketing department.
  • Draft copy for social media posts that will drive high engagement.
  • Administration for new product development.
  • Researching consumer opinions and marketing strategies and proposing adjustments to current strategies accordingly.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Marketing or Communications.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies.
  • Strong communication literacy (MS Office).
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English) – other languages an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness to work at functions and events when required.
  • Work well within a team environment.
  • Cape Wine Academy and/or WSET an advantage.
  • Aptitude with various social media platforms as well as data tracking tools associated with them.
  • Familiarity with consumer psychology and buying habits.
  • Ability to quickly learn and process information.
  • Organization and time management skills.
