Job Description

This position has the primary responsibility to support the agronomy team through the processing of precision farming data, compiling of precision farming maps (soil chemical maps, soil classification maps, crop yield maps, variable rate application maps, etc.) as well as database management and data queries.


The division’s range of specialised products and solutions are encompassed by its unique Nutriology® offering, which assists customers to optimize crop yield and quality. 


  • A minimum of a B.Sc. Agric degree in Agronomy or Soil Science
  • A tertiary qualification in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) will be an added advantage


  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a relevant field
  • High level of GIS knowledge, including the use of ESRI suite (ArcGIS), QGIS and Google Earth applications
  • Knowledge in Ag Leader® SMS™ software will be an added advantage
  • Track record of managing projects and achieving goals


  • Soil classification maps and reports
  • Agricultural spatial data management
  • Working with the agronomic field team
  • Remote sensing data management
  • Translating raw data into agricultural solutions
  • GIS mapping

Job Competencies.

  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of fertilizer crop requirements
  • Strong understanding of agronomic principles including soil chemistry, soil physics, agronomy, plant physiology and crop nutrient management
  • Creative thinker
  • Excellent language skills (written and verbal English and Afrikaans)
  • Ability to lead and take initiative
