We are now recruiting for a Production Planner to join our Operational team at Accolade Flagstone Winery, Somerset West in South Africa. You will be responsible for accurate planning of productions in SA. You will be overseeing production processes by negotiating, estimating and agreeing timescales. You will be overseeing and Managing the Dry Goods and Stock Controller by giving support and guidance where and when needed relevant to their responsibilities. You will oversee Bulk Wine Stock control on JDE.

You will be based in our Somerset West Winery, with flexibility to work from home.

This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Schedule & plan production; including orders and tentative production plan in line with delivery and export/requested dates
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing accurate information on stock availability and demand
  • Maintain accurate and reliable stock (Wine) on hand figures within our internal system (JDE)
  • Oversee Stock Counts completed at various locations
  • Liaise with external Bottlers, Blending facilities, warehouse and transporters
    • ensure timely delivery dates and on time execution of customer orders
    • meet production KPIs; bottling strategies and volumes per bottle
    • negotiate tenders and annual price negotiations
  • Send new orders to the bottlers and confirm best available bottling and intake dates for wine
  • Problem solving during bottling runs
  • Ensure a smooth month end closure with regards to all transactions captured in time

What you’ll bring:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work to, and drive deadlines
  • Experience with Stock management
  • Strong numerical and IT skills
  • Background in Supplier Management
  • Confident negotiation skills
  • Great attitude towards communication, and collaborating as a team player

Essential Qualifications

  • Appropriate computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
  • Graduate qualification in supply / operations or related.
