Purpose of position:

Creating and maintaining lasting customer relationships

Supervising and overseeing the restaurant as directed by Destination Manager

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Minimum two or more years prior experience in the hospitality with a proven ability to be an effective, innovative, and enthusiastic leader.
  • Strong administration skills needed
  • Assist head chefs in planning and coordinating restaurant menus keeping trend and competition information in mind.
  • Make sure that all staff members comply with safe food handling procedures.
  • Analyse restaurant’s sales levels and profitability and create and implement strategic plans to achieve sales goals.
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English). A third language would be advantageous
  • Exceptional in verbal and written communication. Utilise strong interpersonal communication skills to direct daily operations of the restaurant ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity. (Includes agencies/vendors/customers)
  • Passion for food, wine, and customer service. Strong wine knowledge advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately
  • Self-motivated and able to act independently to solve problems as they occur
  • Ensuring proper training of employees
  • Check Inventory, order FOH Supplies
  • Inspect Open/Close restaurant in accordance with daily checklists
  • Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics; Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to up-sell and effectively promote and sell experience to guests
  • Able to meet deadlines and targets set out by management
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision


The candidate must be willing to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays and private events and have their own transport.
