Mechanical Engineer Manager

Looking for a dynamic person to join our team in Paarl.  The successful candidate will develop and grow our new business division. 

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Matric required, a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
• Valid driver's licence
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role relating to mechanical engineering within the wine sector
• Knowledge of oenological processes and winemaking
• Excellent computer literacy - MS Office, other
• Knowledge and experience of bottling lines

Minimum requirements:

• Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic electricity and electronics knowledge/skills.
• Metal work
• Basic understanding of Food Safety norms.
• Assembly and disassembly of service equipment in cellars.
• Control of proper functioning of the processes.
• Technical service and problem resolution.
• Correct storage and ordering of equipment in the warehouse.
• Carry out cleaning and assessment of the equipment.
• Perform all preventive and corrective maintenance operations on equipment as needed.
• Equipment verifications and calibrations,
• Cleaning and maintenance of their assigned vehicles.
• Maintain the traceability of the equipment by proper management.
• Implement quality controls.
• Compliance with all quality procedures related to their functions.
• Budget and costing knowledge.
• Collaborate and co-ordinate with suppliers.
• Development of new projects.
• Organize and manage technical training.
• Strong project management and administrative capabilities.
• Advanced technical troubleshooting.
• Development of equipment in oenological processes.
• Must be prepared to work afterhours if needed.
• Team player with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary organisation.
