National Sales and Marketing Manager, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with travel across Tanzania-Beverage industry

We are looking for a motivated National Sales and Marketing Manager to maximize the business revenues by developing and implementing sales strategies and marketing plans.

The Kifaru Group is a group of companies specialized in international turn-key project development and management as well as procurement, logistics, hospitality industry, and food and beverage supply, including sale of high-quality wines, cheeses, and other fine foods and deli items. The group focus is in the Sub-Saharan African region, with presence in multiple African countries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The National Sales and Marketing Manager's responsibilities include developing comprehensive marketing and sales strategies and marketing plans, prospecting for potential clients and retaining existing customers by building lasting relationships.

The National Sales and Marketing Manager will:

  • Understand market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to shape marketing decisions.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy across all sales channel – wholesale, direct to consumer - on-con and off-con as well as online.
  • Create an annual sales plan.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve the expected goals including sales targets, customer service levels, and overall profits.
  • Creating and implementing an events calendar, holding wine events and wine tastings, and organize dinners with existing and new customers.
  • Be the face of the company at events.
  • Coordinate with the logistic /operations team to ensure an adequate and timely supply of wine to meet sales forecasts for all customers, events, and other outlets.
  • Develop and manage social media platforms and website.
  • Develop online sales platform on website and implement its role out.
  • Establish, build, and maintain excellent relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Conduct product sales analysis, understand sales trends in the market and how the company’s current products are performing, given those trends and create action plans based on the sales analysis.
  • Explore new markets and identify business opportunities, sales channels, and customers.
  • Engage with senior people from our customers’ companies, with international organisations and diplomatic missions.
  • Provide training to sales staff and pass on any successful sales or marketing techniques to other sales staff and encourage a culture of success.
  • Keeping up to date and have excellent knowledge on the company’s products and producers and pass this knowledge to the sales team.
  • Engage with suppliers and partners and be the main contact person between the suppliers and the market/customers.
  • Manage sales and marketing staff, asses their performance.
  • Coordinate and implement training for customers.
  • Provide high quality of service and support to customers as well as quick and timely responses.
  • Closely follow up on all business leads in a timely manner.
  • Draft sales proposals and wine lists for customers.
  • Ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the Company.
  • Ensure the marketing budget is used efficiently and is well spent with measurable results in terms of sales, market share and brand value.
  • Comply with and enforce company policies and practices.
  • Perform all wine sales with respect to applicable laws.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales and marketing roles within food and beverage, hospitality or wine industry.
  • WSET 2 or similar considered a major advantage.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about wine
