DGB, is one of South Africa’s largest independent wine and spirit producers and distributors. DGB currently has a Restaurant & Tasting Room Manager position available in Franschhoek. The ideal candidate is an energetic, independent, and highly driven individual that can function under pressure and be innovative when needed.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Reporting to the GM: Brandhomes. Duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant and tasting room day-to-day operations *Management of the restaurant and tasting room area and personnel *Responsible for Opex & Financial Control within area of scope *Liaison with the Head chef and Wine Advisors to ensure quality customer experience *Liaison with external stakeholders, such as Tourism Association ect *Stock control and rotation of food and menu items *Compile staff schedules *Perform daily administrative tasks *Adherence to Health and Safety standards to maintain a safe working environment *Conduct staff training on an ongoing basis *Ensure a professional guest experience *Report any deviations to Management *All other tasks related to this position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Matric with tertiary qualification;
• Minimum of 3-4 years Hospitality Supervisory/Management experience;
• Extensive knowledge of wine;
• Strong managerial capabilities;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Assertive individual with confidence in team collaboration, creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• Computer literate – Excel, POS Systems (SAP experience will be an added advantage);
• Ability to work weekends, Public Holidays as per industry requirements.
