Our client, a reputable wine grape farm located near Somerset-Wes, is seeking a strong Wine Administrator. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of administrative tasks and will report directly to the Winemaker.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a keen eye for detail, and can handle multiple tasks efficiently. They should be proactive, with excellent organizational and communication skills, and a genuine interest in the wine industry.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 Senior Certificate.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of administrative experience, ideally within the wine industry. Proficiency in SAWIS documentation is highly advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Language: Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be fit, mobile, and healthy.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working accurately under pressure.
  • Learning: Willingness to be upskilled and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Management: Oversee the management of the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage and organization of inventory.
  • Stocktaking: Conduct regular stock takes to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Wine-Related Administration: Handle administrative tasks related to the wine industry, including compliance with SAWIS, Wine & Spirit Board, Department of Agriculture, and Vin lab requirements.
  • Reworks Oversight: Manage reworks such as bottling, labelling, and waxing to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Sample Management: Drop off and collect samples from labs as needed.
