Columbit Industries would like to appoint a self-motivated and responsible individual to the above-mentioned position at its branch in Kensington, Cape Town in the Western Province.

The incumbent will report to the Sales Manager – Consumables, and will be responsible for the following key areas:

 1. Market and promote all products offered by Columbit

  • Conduct regular visits to an agreed list of customers.
  • Offer all products in the Columbit range to all customers.
  • Arrange regular visits by Product Sales Specialists to all customers.
  • Continuously canvas for new business at existing customers.
  • Continuously canvas for new customers.
  • Submit quotations and samples of company products
  1. Product Knowledge
  • Obtain and study all relevant commercial and technical information on all products offered by Columbit.
  • Continuously liaise with other Sales Representatives in the Consumables Division to obtain updated product knowledge.
  1. Performance
  • Prepare annual sales budget including specialised products.
  • Achieve all targets and goals as expected by the company.
  • Regularly analyse personal sales and customer reports in line with targets and budget.
  • Attend all sales meetings.
  • Attend all sales and training seminars as arranged by the company
  1. Commercial Knowledge
  • Obtain regularly updated price lists of all products offered by Columbit.
  • Adhere to Customer Complaints Procedure.
  1. Operational Procedure
  • Adhere to order processing procedure.
  • Adhere to order distribution schedule.
  • Familiarise yourself with minimum order quantities where applicable.
  • Be aware of stock levels at all times.
  • Adhere to lead-time requirements where applicable.
  1. Quality Management
  • Conform to Quality Management documentation.
  • Assist in auditing the Quality Management System.


  • Matric
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar industry
  • A relevant proven sales track record.
  • Relevant course qualification in customer service or similar is recommended.
  • Computer literacy (Financial system, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Client communication skills
  • Fully Bilingual
  • Must be a team player
