Well-known STELLENBOSCH wine estate requires Sous Chef for eatery

A well-known Stellenbosch wine estate is looking for a Sous Chef with a tertiary culinary qualification and at least 2 – 3 years management experience.

 The sous chef will report directly to the head chef and will be in charge of running the kitchen when the head chef is not on duty.

  • Needs to have strong leadership skills.
  • Needs to be creative and add value to the menu and menu planning.
  • Needs to be able to handle pressure and make informative decisions in a high pressure environment.
  • Needs to be computer literate.
  • Will play a part in stock analysis/control and monthly stocktake.
  • Will have to place orders and liaise with suppliers in the head chef’s absence.
  • Has to have an understanding of disciplinary procedures.
