Sous Chef required for well-known STELLENBOSCH eatery

A well-known wine estate, situated in the Stellenbosch region, requires a hardworking, enthusiastic, individual to join our team as Sous Chef. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, fluent in English with a good command of Afrikaans, well-spoken, passionate about food & wine, have excellent interpersonal skill.

- Tertiary culinary qualification and at least 2 – 3 years management experience.
- Needs to have strong leadership skills.
- Needs to be creative and add value to the menu and menu planning.
- Needs to be able to handle pressure and make informative decisions in a high pressure environment.
- Needs to be computer literate.
- Will play a part in stock analysis/control and monthly stock-take.
- Will have to place orders and liaise with suppliers in the head chef’s absence.
- Has to have an understanding of disciplinary procedures.

Work hours 07:30 - 16:30, 5 days a week.
The Sous Chef will report directly to the Head Chef and will be in charge of running the kitchen when the Head Chef is not on duty.
