Accountant Position - Negotiable


A renowned Estate in the hospitality industry, Franschhoek, is seeking an Accountant on full time basis who can maintain a high standard of etiquette, professionalism, be responsible, committed to excellence and be able to work under pressure. 

The candidate’s commitment to work and responsibility, accuracy and confidentiality is vital. The candidate will be reporting to the Directors.


Accounting (annual)
Budget compilation, EMP501 midyear recon, EMP501 yearend recon, Company authorised signatory and SAWIS audit assistance.

Accounting (monthly)
Salary Payroll (including clocking check, commission calculations, bonuses and time in lieu totals), Management Accounts (YTD budget vs. actuals), SAWIS return Customs and excise return (includes reconciliation with SAWIS report), VAT recon and VAT201 return (monthly), EMP201 return, Manage cash-flow, Monthly reporting on financial position by means of profit and loss summary and per departmental management accounts.

Accounting (Bi-weekly)
Wage Payroll.

Accounting (weekly)
Tip calculations, Company supplier payments second authorised signatory and Cash cheques second authorised signatory.

General responsibilities:
Reserve bank applications,Stock take and discussion with head of department, Funds received in advance reconciliation, Match invoices to funds received, Debtor reconciliation,Bank reconciliation,Spot check journal entries done by junior accountants,Creditor payments and reconciliation,Foreign exchange adjustments and updates,Monthly income statements,Cash budgets and forecasts,Audit working papers,Staff documents and contracts,Staff disciplinary procedures

Good Planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills. Flexibility, Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Experience in account/financial department. Certificate / National Diploma or Bcom Accounting will be of advantage.
