Our client, who is based in Paarl, is looking for a Financial Manager to join their team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the full financial function.  This person will produce financial reports, develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the entity.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 

  • Processing and reconciliation of bank account transactions
  • Submit VAT 201 returns using SARS E-filing.
  • Issuing customer invoices and statements on accounting package
  • Processing general ledger journals on accounting package
  • Compiling monthly management accounts and reports using Excel and accounting package.
  • Circulate and then discuss and interpret financials with relevant boards or management teams.
  • Perform full banking function using Absa.
  • General implementation of formal financial structures and procedures specific to each entity being managed.
  • Responsible for all statutory and non-statutory audits (i.e. Liaise with auditors, prepare all documentation, revise audit fees).
  • Assist and implement controls of efficiency protocols for financial processes.
  • General business administration as required
  • Assist auditors with all their requests pertaining to the audit of the specified entities.
  • Supervision, guidance and mentorship of staff within the department.
  • Liaising with customers regarding payments due.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified accountant (B. Com degree)
  • +- 4-6 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports which can be understood by non-financial colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Fully Computer literate
  • Competent to work on Pastel Partner and Pastel Evolution
  • Ability to work at both a detailed and strategic level
  • Excellent customer service ethic
  • Able to work well within a team
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Possess excellent analytical and interpretative skills
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
  • Flexible and creative
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently, using one’s own judgement and solving problems, as and when it arises
  • Compassionate, patient and highly developed people skills

 

This position will be based at Spice Route Destination. The conditions will include and as per

employment contract.

 

Normal working hours will be from Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.

 

Annual leave: 15 days per annum

 

Starting date: As soon as possible


Salary:  R35 000 - R38 000 CTC (negotiable depending on experience)
