Head Chef Position


We are looking for a young ambitious, creative chef to fill head chef position at a well know Stellenbosch Restaurant, The Restaurant @ Clos Malverne.

Operating hours are mainly in the day with some evening functions where the chef will be required to be present.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a head chef or senior sous chef position

Duties include the following

Market related salary based on experience

  • Provides the highest food quality consistent with cost control
  • Creative new seasonal menus 3 times a year
  • Ensures that proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed
  • Controls and analyses operational departmental costs on an on-going basis and takes necessary action to control negative deviation.
  • Utilizes leadership skills and motivation to maximize team member productivity and satisfaction
  • People developer
