Junior Restaurant Manager


Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant in the Franschhoek Valley requires a person with a positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook and the ability to function well under pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: • welcoming and cordial treatment of guests •  dealing with guests’ inquiries • co-ordination of restaurant activities • cashing up • stock control • liaison with kitchen and marketing department • organising of functions and related gatherings •staff management • managing the pass • ensuring that dishes are delivered in a timely manner to the right table and that staff members announce these actions correctly • ad hoc administrative duties 

Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following: • a qualification in hotel management, or related tertiary training • at least two years’ experience in a similar position • general knowledge of food and wine • strong leadership skills • diligence and excellent people skills • excellent language fluency (Afrikaans and English) • willingness to work on scheduled holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
