Food Safety Coordinator

Our client in Swellendam require the services of a Food Safety Coordinator for their citrus pack house.

The position will report to the admin manager and is available immediately.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric with relevant qualification

2 to 3 years’ experience in a food safety environment, preferable in a fruit industry environment

Knowledge of HACCP and BRC standards

Computer literate (Excel advance & MS Office)

Strong administrative skills

Excellent people skills

Attention to detail

Quick response to crisis and change

Ability to work under pressure and independently

Good communication skills

Effective record keeping

 

 

KEY DUTIES:

Responsible for overall compliance with food safety standards and safety practises

Manage the food safety system and ensure that the system operate effectively

Ensure all tasks are carried out and records completed correctly

Conduct GMP audits and develop/implement corrective and preventative action plans.

Ensuring traceability is maintained throughout the process from supplier to customer

Coordinate and manage all 3rd party inspections and or audits: BRC; IFS; TPPS; SIZA and other client specific audits

Monitor health and safety requirements

Manage the supplier quality assurance approval and monitoring program for all suppliers and service providers

Manage; investigate and feedback of customer complaints

Facilitate food safety meetings and reporting to management

Coordinate new hire and annual training to ensure training is conducted and is effectively communicated of all food safety policies to company employees.

Any other ad hoc tasks that might be required from time to time

 

 

 

SALARY:

 A market related total cost to company package is offered with pension fund benefits. Housing is not included.
