Description: On behalf of our client, a reputable wine distribution company in Cape town. We are searching for a talented Business Development/ Sales Executive to join their dynamic team.

Role:

For this exciting role we are looking for an ambitious person to join our trading desk, with a view to developing our customer base in internationally.

This role is suitable for a driven and experienced Business Development / Sales Executive with a desire to travel and develop business internationally.

The successful candidate will have the drive to create financial success on a personal and Company level and there will be a bonus structure in place to attract and retain people who are of the highest caliber.

There is excellent earning potential for high-performers.

Key Responsibilities:

Retention of existing clients and development of new ones in the highly-competitive international marketplace
Ownership, management and delivery of annual trading budget
Understand the customer and their requirements, both commercial and technical
Developing a technical understanding of the products desired in different international markets, and working with partner suppliers to develop same
Growing your ability as a risk-manager, dealing in multiple currencies with partners in developing markets
Using data to drive trading strategies to increase & improve returns
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

Experience, Qualifications & Competencies:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales or trading role is mandatory
Experience selling into global markets an advantage.     
Entrepreneurial mindset with proven negotiation skills
Self-starting team player with the attitude, energy and motivation to get results in a demanding and challenging environment
The ability to develop relationships with people through excellent verbal and written communication is essential
Agility: the ability to adapt at pace and think on your feet
High numerical aptitude, strong analytical skills
An organized planner; Ability to prioritize and focus on what really matters
Third level qualification in International Business or Agriculture or similar is an advantage

·      International language is an advantage, not essential

·      Own transport

·      Flexibility to travel internationally as per business requirements
