We are a small Organic Wine Farm located outside the small village of Stanford in Walker Bay. We have 30 ha under vine, which we established starting in 1996. We concentrate on Chenin Blanc and Pinotage, but have a number of other varietals planted. The farm was certified Organic in April 2018 and 2019 harvest will mark our first ever Organic Vintage.

We are looking for someone with a passion for making high quality Organic Wine. The successful candidate will be working directly with our full-time staff on winemaking activities daily under the guidance of our Winemaker.

The position is only available to interns who can work minimum 2 months, from January/February 2019 to April/May 2019. The work will include weekend, and overtime work.


  • General work in the cellar
  • Grape processing, pressing, juice clarification, etc.
  • Daily fermentation control
  • Daily punch downs on fermenting red wines
  • Filling and emptying wine barrels.
  • Cleaning and stacking wine barrels

Minimum requirements

  • Should be available for minimum two months between January and April/May 2019.
  • Previous harvest experience in a winery is an advantage
  • Preferred: Studies in Oenology and/or Viticulture

 Accommodation and payments.

  • We offer basic housing for our interns on the farm.
  • An allowance (on basis of minimum wage) is offered to all interns.
  • The crew of past interns have become part of the Springfontein family.
