Cavalli Wine Estate has a vacancy for a Tasting Room Manager with three or more years prior management experience in the wine industry and a proven ability to be an effective, innovative and enthusiastic leader.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will be responsible for all aspects of operating the tasting room, including but not limited to:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Tasting Room which includes tastings, visitor relations, tours, staff performance, wine clubs and internet sales
- Managing daily visitor appointments, inventory, printed materials
- Developing innovative ways to drive sales and customer satisfaction;
- Working with hospitality and industry peers to create successful referral programs;
- Achieving tasting room goals including sales, new club members
- Employee sales and customer service training, one-on-one coaching, and ongoing wine education;
- Conducting off-site pourings, tastings and events as needed
- Hire, train, schedule and supervise Tasting Room Ambassadors
- Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies
- Coordinate hospitality events, such as consumer tastings, VIP tastings, and wine club events
- Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating POS, and accounting for daily sales. Ensure that cash accounting is correct and complete at the end of the business day
- Draft newsletters, maintains social media presence and website content
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the tasting room menu, products and procedures
- Assuming responsibility for the tasting room overall cleanliness, operations, efficiency, compliance with procedures, and customer satisfaction
- Training/coaching team members on procedures, Developing team members’ wine knowledge
- Helping to develop new procedures/policies and rolling out to staff
- speaking knowledgeably about Cavalli Wines and wine in general
- Filling in when necessary in emergency situations
