SA's largest touring wine show is looking for an Exhibition Sales Manager



Primary Function

Reporting directly to the CEO, the primary function of the Exhibitor Sales Manager is to secure exhibitors for all 7 Wine Shows in line with the company’s sales strategy. By establishing and maintaining relationships with key players in the wine industry, you will ensure their ongoing involvement in our events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Exhibitor Sales
    1. Create an annual sales plan and manage accordingly to ensure regional sales targets are met
    2. Work with marketing to develop the sales pack
    3. Be fully educated on the events marketing strategy and seek out joint opportunities
    4. Work with existing exhibitors to keep them updated and excited about the shows
    5. Identify new wine farms to target
    6. Manage payments to ensure effective cash flow management
    7. Seek out opportunities
    8. Provide weekly sales reports
    9. Attend weekly sales meetings to provide updates
    10. Manage all exhibitor stand requirements and ensure the relevant information is communicated effectively to Operations and
  2. On-site Support
    1. Be the face of the company at event
  3. Relationship building
    1. Maintain professional relationships with all suppliers
    2. Develop and maintain relationships with key industry players and stakeholders including but not limited to Wine Routes, Cultivar Associations etc
    3. Spend a minimum of 1 day per week meeting with the wine farms
    4. Liaise with TOPS Champions per reason under the direction of the CEO
  4. General
    1. Analyse industry trends and identify opportunities


  1. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
  2. A thorough knowledge of the SA Wine Industry and a proven track record
  3. A passion for wine!
  4. Strong organising and planning skills
  5. Sales skills and the ability to influence people
  6. An outgoing people’s person that can build strong relationships with people in the industry
  7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  8. Computer literate and online savvy
  9. Analytical skills and the ability to translate complex sales reports into meaningful business knowledge
  10. The ability to work weekends and long hours
  11. Must be fully bilingual (English/Afrikaans)
  12. Must have reliable vehicle and own cell phone
  13. Ideally based in the Stellenbosch region or surrounds


Package includes basic plus 10% commission. The exact amount will be dependent on experience. The company will cover travel costs to attend the events and overnight travel where necessary and mutually agreed.
