Sales Engineer


Our client is looking for a self-driven and proactive Sales Engineer who is innovative, creative and thinks out of the box. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling high value production line equipment for the food and beverage industry.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a technical field e.g. a diploma in mechanical engineering
  • 5-8 years relevant experience – Design/commissioning/technical sales
  • Commercial experience would be an advantage
  • Highly computer literate
  • Professional, well presented with excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate with customers
  • Able to do presentations

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Managing the full sales process from identifying new clients and developing business relationships to concluding the sale over a 6 – 12+ month sales cycle.
  • Prospecting and cold calling
  • Following up on leads
  • Analyse costing requirements & do costings
  • Formulating solutions for customers which may involve some design work
  • Do quotations
  • Presentations to customers
  • Post project client liaison
  • Liaising with customers
  • Work environment will be mainly manufacturing plants, factories, packaging plants etc.
