Leading Wine & Spirits company has an exciting opportunity available in the Gauteng Region. Looking for the right, vibrant, self motivated, driver and creative candidate .The ideal candidate will serve customers by selling products; meeting customer needs, growing and managing Portfolio of Wine & Spirits. Portfolio Managers attributes are someone with a friendly demeanour and positive attitude with a deep passion for the wine and spirits industry, who will work proactively and creatively to increase sales through monthly targets, assist with marketing activities, and ensure that the business remains well-informed of industry trends.

The Responsibilities will include but not limited :

• establish and maintain business relationships with local trade community and vendors in conjunction with the distributor
• manage and maintain key accounts records
• track customer preferences / feedback, metrics and media campaigns
• represent the brand at events, launches and trade shows
• conduct wine tastings
• train retail personnel on product’s features, customer service and merchandizing standards
• report to the National Sales Manager

Portfolio Managers Job Duties:

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Works closely with marketing team to assist with on or/and off-site activities as and when required.
  • Weekends and public holidays work required from time to time
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
