A renowned award winning Estate in the hospitality industry, Franschhoek, is seeking a Chef de Partie on full time basis, who are passionate regarding his career, can maintain a high standard of etiquette, professionalism, be responsible, committed to excellence and be able to work under pressure enjoying the fast pace of working in the kitchen. 

It is expected that a calm hands-on approach be applied at all times regarding tasks to be done, ensuring excellent and outstanding food experiences to our guests.

The successful candidate must be able to give attention to detail, guest focused but also be a team player. The candidate must be available to work long hours and on Public Holidays etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and properly garnish food orders as they are received in accordance with recipes and proper plate presentation
  • Supervise and support team members in own section to achieve optimum quality
  • Follow proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices at all times
  • Ensures close down of section in accordance with departmental procedures and standards
  • Manage and train any staff working with you
  • Assisting the Executive and Head Chef to develop new dishes and menus

 Requirements of applicant:

  • A proven track record in a similar role within a quality environment and to be able to demonstrate excellent standards and team member supervision
  • A positive approach, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for producing high quality customer care.
  • Driven and ambitious to inspire the team to consistently deliver and exceed food and service standards
  • Team player, clear thinker with excellent communication skills
  • An ability to delegate appropriately and organisational flair
  • A grasp of profit margins

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a Fine Dining Establishment
  • Computer Literate
  • Experience in basic kitchen administration, food ordering, stock and cost control.
  • Proven ability to train and manage people
