Head Chef / Restaurant Management Position

A well-known organic wine estate is looking for an experienced Head chef/Restaurant Manager in WOLSELEY (Western Cape).


The minimum requirements should be:

Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience in a similar position with a reputable/well-known brand.

Not fine dining but should have an adventurous and experienced pallet to produce a flavourful seasonal menu.

Must be comfortable and well-presented in both kitchen and front-of-house environment.

Should have some experience in a function coordinating and venue setup to be able to assist and organise clients’ functions and especially weddings.

Computer literate with both Microsoft programs and Sage Pastel.

Financially competent to run the daily financials of the restaurant and report back to accounting.

Comfortable to deal with both customer complaints and compliments.

Efficient in stock ordering, control and supporting health & safety.

Excellent at self-management in regard to fulfilling the required position, manage other employees and own flexi time.

Own transport/motor vehicle a must!

Fluent in English and Afrikaans


Will count in your favour:

Marketing experience via different channels including social media

Experience in training of employees

A good wine knowledge

Need to be bilingual (Afrikaans & English)



Salary will be market related.


The perfect candidate will be required to take ‘ownership’ of the restaurant and venue and manage it profitably. Please be available for preliminary interviews followed by cooking for the directors.
