Group Human Resources Manager

West Coast  

Our client in the Citrusdal area is seeking to appoint a Group Human Resource Manager for their farming operations.

 The incumbent will assume full accountability for the Group HR function with emphasis on:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies that support the business and human resource needs, while giving strategic HR advice to the executive management team and the farming operations.
  • Responsible for the human resources function of the Group.
  • Representing the Group’s interests at government level and within industrial, labour and other appropriate business-related forums.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and expertise in respect of the HR function generally, to align agreed and prioritized objectives with the company's strategic requirements specifically
  • Become the custodian of a healthy organisational culture by formulating and implementing agreed strategies specifically designed to inculcate such a culture
  • Develop and implement a labour strategy designed to build and maintain a productive workforce and ensure that it is conducive to the successful achievement of the agreed business goals
  • Formulate and enforce employment policies and practices that attract suitable staff for specific jobs, thereby establishing the company as a preferred employer
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure that training strategies address development needs that lead to real opportunities for implementing career pathing and succession planning
  • Provide direction on meeting EE Targets and BEE requirements by establishing and managing policies and practices and that achieve agreed goals within the realities of the business environment
  • Make strategic recommendations on bench-marked employee remuneration and benefits
  • Spearhead programmes that underpin business objectives through directly addressing organisational development, company climate, culture and performance management


  • Post Graduate studies in Human Resources Management
  • 8-10 years’ management experience at a Human Resources Management level
  • Previous experience of working in a decentralized business operation
  • Strategic management skill
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Innovative and independent
  • Action orientated
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
