Tasting Room Manager position in Paarl/Wellington region - 7654


A well-established winery in Wellington/Paarl region is looking for a Tasting Room Manager to form part of the Tasting Room team. 
You will be required to work on weekends (Saturday & Sunday), public holidays and on a special occasions where needed.

Job Description:

You need to provide first class hospitality service to all our guests.

This includes but is not limited to:
- Make recommendations on wines and conduct tastings.
- Assist with logistics in terms of: Stock Take, the tidiness and cleanliness of the tasting room, cash-up and assisting guest by carrying wine to their vehicles and courier of wines.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately

- Ability and willingness to up-sell and also effectively promote and sell wine and Wine Club memberships to guests

- Strong administration skills will be advantageous

- Be a strong team player and leader

- Manage tasting and promotional stock

- Oversee opening and closing of Tasting room when needed

- Strong ability to present wines and be social- interacting in a positive and professional manner with clients and visitors

- Able to confidently conduct tastings, cellar and vineyard tours for small as well as larger groups

- Compile visitor’s lists and records

- Assist with events when needed

 - Must be able to travel to wine shows when necessary & work flexi hours in season


Minimum requirements:
 - Matric 

- Own Transport
 - Candidates must be available to work alternate weekends, public holidays and during the week.
 - Fluent in English, both written and verbal, Afrikaans and any other language will be an advantageous.
 - Previous tasting room and/or wine sales experience essential

- Passion for wine and customer service with a strong general wine knowledge

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
