Our client, located in Epping, is an integrated agri-business specialising in the production and packing of foods such as stocks, gravies and sauces, as well as value-added meat products for the retail and food service markets.

 

They are looking for an experienced procurement clerk to join their administrative team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process procurement requests from relevant staff members.
  • Complete all necessary documentation regarding procurement requests, both electronically and physically, within the information system
  • Place all orders with relevant suppliers
  • Co-ordinate with stock controller to adequately maintain correct stock levels
  • Establish strong relationships with suppliers, include knowledge of all products available and developing guidelines for delivery of orders
  • Obtain regular price lists; product lead times; minimum order quantities and assistant in negotiation of prices
  • Source raw material samples and prices to be used in new product development
  • Source best prices for established raw materials needs
  • Follow up on outstanding and short delivered orders
  • Add hoc duties from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric (with 2-3 years relevant experience)
  • Literacy in Microsoft Excel / Word (Intermediate level)
  • Experience in Dynamics NAV (advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong administrative skill with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills with a vibrant personality
  • Own transport and driver’s license (Not negotiable)

 

SALARY:

R13 000 CTC
