Cape Town Wine Hub is situated in the Gants Plaza, Strand, conveniently situated just off the N2. We offer the following services under one roof storage, labelling, reworks, admin, consulting and transportation efficiently and effectively. 


The foreman position is a critical leadership position responsible for facilitating daily operations and making sure all practices are implemented. This is a hands-on position and requires doing warehouse work.  The ability to work under pressure.

Essential functions and requirements:

  • Be present on the floor to monitor/perform warehouse work
  • Review daily schedule and prioritize daily work schedule to meet business and warehouse requirements
  • Possess the ability to understand warehouse requirements via verbal and written instructions
  • Assign all work to keep personnel productive and monitor progress from start to finish, including all associated paperwork and ensure our quality standards are met and operations are flowing smoothly daily.
  • Must be able to learn and effectively train others on all work processes and hold individuals accountable
  • Maintain excellent safety record
  • Maintain a safe, clean and healthful work environment at all times
  • Effectively communicate with all personnel, vendors, contractors and peers resolving issues and complaints
  • Check items received, locate in appropriate storage area(s) and complete proper documentation
  • Check items dispatched, and complete proper documentation
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance (and some facility Maintenance), keep a schedule for all major cellar equipment and work with vendors/staff to ensure we operate at the highest level, ongoing- reporting weekly.
  • Recommend and research new and old technologies to increase quality while creating efficiencies
  • Assist in hiring and supervise warehouse employees
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Ensures that all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Is familiar and able to complete all required processes and documentation for Wine’s received, labelled etc. (Pink Cards, BG5, etc.)
  • Experience with container loading, labelling & waxing
  • Loading/ offloading and moving of stock by forklift will be required


  • Possess at least 2 years of experience working within a winery
  • Strong knowledge of production/manufacturing operations
  • Able to perform all cellar operations at a very high level
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word. Familiar with wine tracking software preferred
  • Great attitude, takes ownership and initiative
  • Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities and work independently within set guidelines and is a self-starter
  • Provide good verbal and written communications to all levels of management, both internally and externally
  • Prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities, able to multitask with an excellent work ethic
  • Successfully pass all testing requirements
  • Forklift certified
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Possess the ability to work in a fast pace environment under pressure
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Primary work environment is on the production floor
  • Position will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks in a production environment
