Be innovative and creative in growing tasting destination sales, fostering a welcoming environment for customers to visit.

It is important that tasting destination staff have a sound general knowledge of wines and food offered and continue to educate themselves and try to gain insights from customers as to their likes and dislikes and possible future drinking trends. More than anything, staff should remain courteous and professional at all times.

Do the necessary preparation e.g. food preparation, ensure sufficient stocks, clean tasting glasses and water.

Ensure cleanliness of tasting destination and the restrooms.

Opening of new wine, tasting of wine to ensure freshness and guarding against faulty wines being presented.

Record of all the wines opened.

Check that all pricing is correct and up to date and that any promotions or specials are in place.

Arrange national and international wine consignments.

Waybills to be completed and enquire from the client the payment method.

Client to be phoned after 3 days to enquire safe delivery of his/her wine order and to make sure he/she is satisfied with our service.

Wine tastings and catering provided for national and international clients who visit our country.

Agent tastings.

Representing our portfolio of brands at national wine shows and designated events off-premise.

Staff delegation - ensure assistants carry out their responsibilities and carry out their various assignments.

Staff rosters are compiled.

Stock take of wine inventory for weekly and monthly stock take.

Recording the contact details of ALL who visit the tasting destination; encouraging those willing to give us permission to communicate with them and updated their personal details on our database.

Client liaison in conjunction with mailing list by method of email, fax or phone.

Phoning tour agents, independent or corporate, to enquire about and encourage tour bookings.

Cash up at the end of the day. Tasting destination and stockroom are secured and alarm is activated.
