Situated in a unique fold of the Simonsberg, a sub-region of Stellenbosch, Warwick Wine Estate is in need of a new Head Chef to join their Hospitality Team. The main purpose of this position is to take control and run the kitchen department in line with the requirements from the Hospitality Manager.


Job Role:

  • Creative development of top end menus for all seasons and events.
  • Quality Control in preparing, cooking and presenting these dishes.
  • Knowledge in organic, vegan and vegetarian cuisine.
  • Assist in training, supervising and developing the kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining inventory, estimate food consumption, purchase food and non-food items necessary for the kitchen operation.
  • Ensure all costings are in line with company policy, which includes the sourcing of contractors and suppliers and to maintain good relationships with all food suppliers.   
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Responsible for the overall management and reporting of inventory including food stock and operational equipment.
  • Always demonstrate commitment to the Warwick brand requirements.


Qualification Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12)

Formal Tertiary Chef’s Qualification

5 years Restaurant kitchen experience as a qualified Chef

Management Supervisory Skills
