Bottega Family Wine is seeking to employ a full-time wine sales administrator for a position located at the distribution office in Somerset West. This is a great opportunity to learn about the wine business and to grow with a company.

We are looking for a hardworking, upbeat and loyal team player who can take initiative and stay on top of the day-to-day operations in this busy environment. An adaptable, proactive person with strong attention to detail. This person will form a valuable part of our sales and logistics team. Due to the nature of our business, we are specifically looking to hire a team member with previous experience in working in the wine industry.

Our portfolio includes premium local wine brands, an international Italian wine import and distribution company, a spirits division and a hospitality division.

Daily Tasks:

  • Taking new incoming orders from trade and private clients across various channels
  • Generating invoices for new orders on Pastel and/or Sage
  • Liaising with clients on sales orders.
  • Organising daily delivery schedules for drivers and optimising routes
  • Heading up our stock control program: ensuring stock is counted monthly and pastel updated with accountant/auditor.
  • Stock Control management role: reporting any stock entering and leaving the warehouse as well as promotional stock returned
  • Answering the office telephone and handling and directing queries
  • Filing and other administrative duties in the office

Reporting:

  • You will report to the head of sales and to the Bottega Management group.
  • Reports include the daily sales sheet; monthly stock control sheet and monthly orders delivered report.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in a wine admin or wine accounts role
  • Pastel and/or Sage experience
  • Understanding of wine knowledge is a must (wine export handling a plus)
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of Systems, Stock Management, and Administration, Filing, Statutory requirements, receipts/dispatch and distribution of goods, computer literacy and accurate record-keeping.
  • Good teamwork and people skills
  • Post-school qualification/courses
  • Fluent in English; advantageous if you have other languages (Italian)
  • Previous experience with logistics is highly advantageous
