Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to join a Luxury Guest Farm nestled in the heart of Franschhoek. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional with a passion for crafting exceptional, seasonal dishes that reflect the region’s rich produce and farm-to-table philosophy. The position offers a salary of R40,000 – R50,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

  • Develop innovative menus that highlight local and sustainable ingredients.

  • Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver outstanding culinary experiences.

  • Maintain strict hygiene, health, and safety standards within the kitchen.

  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships efficiently.

  • Collaborate with management to enhance the overall guest dining experience.

  • Ensure consistency in food preparation and service across all dining areas.

Requirements:

  • Formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution.

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury hospitality environment.

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Excellent understanding of modern culinary techniques and plating styles.

  • Passion for sustainability, local produce, and innovation in cuisine.

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
