Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a creative and passionate Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. The Role:
The Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and maintaining the highest culinary standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in menu planning and recipe development

  • Preparing and presenting dishes to luxury hospitality standards

  • Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring smooth workflow

  • Maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards in the kitchen

  • Managing inventory, stock levels, and ordering ingredients

  • Collaborating with the culinary and F&B teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences

  • Contributing to seasonal and special event menus

Who they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in fine dining or luxury hospitality

  • Strong leadership, team management, and organisational skills

  • Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about culinary excellence

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems

  • Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
