Vacancy: Cellar Assistant - Bottling Plant

Breede River Valley Bottling (BBK) specializes in the bottling and packaging of wine and other beverages and currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Cellar Assistant to form part of its dynamic team.

Reporting to the Associate Winemaker, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Effective filtration of wines to meet production requirements
• Contribute to timely wine readiness for production
• Ensuring that SO2 / O2 / CO2 and FI levels of all products meet client and legal specifications and perform routine laboratory analysis and maintain accurate records thereof
• Accurate recordkeeping of filtration, wine transfer and stock control processes
• Assist with wine services (wine additives) and manage stock levels
• Ensuring a safe working environment for self and co-workers.

Successful candidates need to align to the following requirements:

• Grade 12
• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture would be advantageous
• 2 years’ experience in a Cellar Environment with operational knowledge of cellar equipment and processes
• Forklift License would be advantageous
• Basic HACCP knowledge
• Numerical acumen and attention to detail
• Good written and verbal skills in English
• Ability to multitask with a proactive attitude
• Willingness to work overtime and according to operational requirements
