Badsberg Cellar, situated in Rawsonville, has a vacancy for a Senior Winemaker to join their team. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, has excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and innovation in a dynamic team environment.
The Senior Winemaker will report directly to the Production Manager and will be responsible for: *Managing the entire winemaking process, including cellar and harvest activities, blending, stabilisation, and scheduling bottling *Maintaining quality systems (IPW, ISO22000, WIETA), ensuring all wines meet regulatory standards *Managing cellar staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements *Overseeing inventory control, including the procurement of chemicals and winemaking supplies *Lead blending sessions, conduct tastings, and make adjustments to meet brand standards *Support brand promotion, engage with clients, and contribute to product development *All other tasks related to this position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Viticulture and Oenology;
• Minimum 10 years' experience;
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office, WineMS);
• Valid driver's license.
Starting date: 1 November 2024.
