Restaurant Ambassador / Waiter

The Waiter / Restaurant Ambassador at Lynx Wine Estate is expected to assist with the F&B operations to ensure that we consistently exceed our guests' expectations. They should ensure that the standards of The Lynx Collection are met (if not, exceeded), to live up to our purpose, which is "The Lynx Collection stands for innovation, diversity, and sustainability. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Service of food and beverages in dining areas, breakfast room, pool and all outdoor service areas.
• Greeting guests warmly and offering welcome drinks on arrival.
• Ensure all Waiter duties are carried out according to daily checklists and duties assigned.
• Ensure dining areas are clean and tidy during shifts and before leaving your shift.
• Understand and communicate the daily menu, have up to date knowledge of the menu and wine lists.
• Performing each duty as per the company’s standard operating procedures.
• Preparation and service of all beverages.
• Ensure all orders are passed on to the kitchen as quickly as possible.
• Ensure that all food sent from the kitchen is up to standard and as requested.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and suggest areas for continuous improvement.
• Assist with all service, set ups and breakdowns of functions and returning of service providers’ stock.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a 5* environment or similar as a Waiter
• Exceptional food and beverage knowledge, preferably with additional industry certifications (wine and spirits).
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail.
• Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of the Property Management System at Operator Level – Lightspeed.

It is important that the candidate can work as part of a team and is a good cultural fit for The Lynx Collection Team.

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit, Visa and Passport is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document. Please note that we apply a 6-month probation period for all new applicants.
