Hidden Valley Wines, situated in Stellenbosch on the picturesque foothills of the Helderberg Mountains, offers a unique and immersive internship experience. Being a small winery, our permanent team comprises only the head oenologist and an assistant winemaker, ensuring a highly hands-on learning environment. Interns will be expected to participate in all aspects of the winemaking process, from cleaning and maintenance to vineyard sampling, grape handling, juice and wine transfers, as well as everything in between.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grape sampling in the vineyard.
  • Base wine production for sparkling wines such as Cap Classique, including whole bunch pressing.
  • Production of Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé wines.
  • Red wine production, involving grape sorting, pump overs, and délestage.
  • Monitoring fermentations and making necessary additions.

  • Willingness to work weekends.
  • Reliable personal transportation to and from work. (No accommodation provided)

Our cellar is modern and well-equipped, providing a great learning opportunity as well as a beautiful and functional space to gain experience and knowledge relating to the many facets of winemaking. Duration: January 2025 – 31 April 2025 or until end of harvest.
