Job Description:

The Senior Marketing Manager at Glen Carlou Vineyards is responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and support overall business growth. This role is crucial in shaping and communicating the Glen Carlou brand story across all channels, including the development of the wine club strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of long-term marketing strategies aligned with Glen Carlou's business objectives.
  • Lead brand positioning and messaging across all platforms and markets.
  • Identify and analyse market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing initiatives and oversee their measurement.
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
  • Oversee partnerships with external agencies, including PR firms and creative agencies.
  • Lead the development of the brand's visual identity and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Guide the creation of high-level marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Provide strategic direction for digital marketing efforts, including website development and social media strategy.
  • Develop and oversee crisis communication strategies.
  • Design and oversee the wine club strategy, including membership structure, benefits, and growth plans.
  • Collaborate with the DTC Manager to align wine club operations with overall marketing objectives.
  • Analyse wine club performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimise member acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Develop and oversee the overall social media strategy for Glen Carlou Wine Estate, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives and brand positioning.
  • Provide strategic guidance on social media content, engagement tactics, and platform selection to maximise brand visibility and customer interaction.
  • Collaborate with the DTC Manager to integrate social media efforts with direct-to-consumer initiatives and Wine Club operations.
  • Stay informed about emerging social media trends, technologies, and best practices in the wine industry and broader digital marketing landscape.
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media efforts and regularly review analytics to guide strategy refinement.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources for social media marketing, including budget for paid social advertising and potential influencer partnerships.
  • Ensure that social media activities follow legal requirements and industry regulations, particularly regarding alcohol marketing.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to leverage social media for various aspects of the business, including product launches, events, and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marketing, or related field preferred and 7+ years of experience in marketing roles, preferably in the wine or ecommerce industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies, including loyalty programs or subscription-based models.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience with market research methodologies.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into marketing initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and managing customer loyalty programs or wine clubs is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful social media strategies, preferably in the wine or luxury goods sector.
  • Strong understanding of social media best practices, analytics, and emerging trends in digital marketing.
  • Ensure strict adherence to brand guidelines across all marketing materials and touchpoints. Leverage a keen eye for design to maintain brand consistency and visual appeal. Strong aesthetic sense and ability to oversee visual design elements to ensure brand consistency and appeal.
  • Advanced understanding of graphic design software is a plus.
