Laboratory Manager - Vredendal

Namaqua Wines is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced candidate, with strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication and organisational skills, analytical & logical thinking skills and team-building skills to join their team at its premises in Vredendal, Western Cape. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of laboratory management and a commitment to quality and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Manage daily operations of the Laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
• Ensure end products meet specifications
• Test method development
• Implementation of Lean Lab Principles with a strong focus on continuous improvement 

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Wine Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Food technology
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• 3+ years of working experience with WineScanTM instruments
• Knowledge of the ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Management System
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
