Our client, a wine wholesale company, currently has a vacancy for two Premium Wine Specialist to join their team - one position in Western Cape and one in Gauteng. The incumbents will champion a prestigious portfolio of non-commercial and award-winning wines, driving presence and recognition in the on-consumption channel.

The ideal candidate has a dynamic and engaging style, and has the ability to influence high profile clients effectively by sharing their passion for premium wines. Networking skills, goal orientation, and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively are further requirements of the role.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Sales Manager, and responsibilities will include: *Expand presence in premium establishments *Build and maintain key client relationships to secure new listings and repeat business *Lead wine presentations and tastings to position wines on top wine lists *Partner with Winemakers and Brand Marketing for impactful trade visits and promotions *Train client staff on the portfolio and wine service standards *Support special events, activations, and brand promotions *Analyze market trends and provide feedback to shape sales strategies *Ensure resource availability and report deficiencies to management *all other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• WSET Level 2 qualification or higher, or Cape Wine Academy certification;

• 5 years' experience in the wine industry, with a proven track record in on-trade sales;

• Experience as a sommelier, chef or within the hospitality industry is highly desirable;

• Previous experience with premium wine portfolios, including organizing and executing high-profile events, such as wine dinners and masterclasses;

• Valid driver’s license, own reliable transport, and willingness to travel;

• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
