A boutique wine farm in the Upper Hemel en Aarde valley is looking for a tasting room assistant.
This position will play an important role in delivering memorable and informative wine tasting experiences to our valued guests. You will be well presented and responsible for engaging with visitors, guiding them through our wine selection, sharing insights about our wine-making process and make sure the visit is enjoyable and educational.
Expected duration for this vacancy is 4-5 months.
Working hours are on shift basis and from 9-5 on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
Applicants that reside in the Hermanus area and with own transport will be considered.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
- Conduct wine tastings
- Maintain clean and organized tasting room
- Handle wine sales, process transactions, manage inventory accurately
- Uphold highest standard of customer service
Requirements but not limited to:
- Previous experience in customer facing role (hospitality or wine industry)
- Passion for basic knowledge of wine
- Excellent communication skills and ability to up-sell
- Attention to detail and able to multitask
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy boxes
