La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley requires a passionate Junior Pastry Chef to join the Bakery team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to create innovative desserts, pastries, and confectionary items
  • continuously explore new techniques, flavours and trends in pastry-making to keep menu fresh and exciting
  • assisting with inventory and stock management

Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:

  • degree or diploma in culinary arts
  • minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  • knowledge of a variety of pastry and confectionery techniques and trends
  • ability to function as part of a team
  • ability to work independently and take initiative
  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
  • own transport
