Restaurant in the Stellenbosch Winelands seeking a Jnr Sous Chef

We are looking for a jnr. sous chef with a tertiary culinary qualification and at least 2 – 3 years experience in a leading or similar role.

  • The jnr. sous chef will report directly to the Sous & Head chef and will be in charge of running the kitchen when the Sous chef is not on duty.
  • Needs to have strong leadership skills.
  • Needs to be creative and add value to the menu and menu planning.
  • Needs to be able to handle pressure and make informative decisions in a high pressure environment.
  • Needs to be computer literate.
  • Will play a part in stock analysis/control and monthly stocktake.
  • Will have to place orders and liaise with suppliers in the Sous chef’s absence.
  • Has to have an understanding of disciplinary procedures.
  • Own transport and valid driver’s license a prerequisite.
  • Team player and sober habits.
