Warwick Wine Estate is seeking for a Seasonal Runner to become part of our dynamic Hospitality team for a fixed-term period.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring quick and efficient service by supporting the Wine Hosts/Waiters within the Hospitality department.  

Position Purpose:

The Seasonal Runner will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operations of the Tasting Room and Restaurant by ensuring efficient service delivery. This role is key to maintaining a seamless guest experience by providing essential support to the service team and ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and fully stocked. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the Hospitality team by upholding the highest standards of service and contributing to a positive team environment.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or service environment is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup, service and end-of-day duties:
  • Prepare the Tasting Room, Restaurant and Picnic areas for daily operations, including setting up tables, arranging seating areas, and ensuring all areas are clean and presentable.
  • Assist with cleanup of service areas.
  • Support the Service Team during service:
  • Deliver food, wine, and other items to guests promptly and accurately, ensuring timely service.
  • Clear tables and reset them for new guests, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Refill water, wine, bread, and other table necessities as needed.
  • Stocking and Replenishment:
  • Ensure that service stations are well-stocked with the necessary supplies, including wine, glassware, utensils, and napkins.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the relevant team member.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization:
  • Keep all areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Ensure that any spills or messes are promptly addressed to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate with the Kitchen and Service Teams:
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that orders are delivered accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate any special requests or needs from guests to the appropriate team members.
  • Promote a positive Guest Experience:
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, answering any questions or directing them to the appropriate team members.
  • Support the overall sales efforts by ensuring that the service process is smooth and guests are well taken care of.
